PLANNING & ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN THESIS; 2007
Using folding as a formal and structural system to create mixed cellular spaces was the brief of this design research project.
In a Serial City formed by Folding, a mix of various building typologies such as low-rise, mega-blocks and high-rise can be achieved, using the same planning and shaping tools and methodologies.
This project in 2006-07 tried to research the abilities of topological transformations and deformations of regular grid as an alternative for conventional urban grid. The result was a digitally coded city-landscape that embodied spaces transiting in scale and in height. (In collaboration with Aditya Chandra and Galo Cázares Fernández)
